Quick Response: KIUC Restores Power, A Welcome Change on Kauai

A couple hours without power on Upper Kapahi, and then, just like that, the lights came back on. That's a welcome change, especially when the habit around here used to be bracing for a half-day outage at the slightest gust. The KIUC crews were out there in the thick of it, and it shows. The grid held its own this time. We know the south side caught the worst of it, and our thoughts are with them. But for those of us who expected the worst and got a pleasant surprise, it's worth a moment of gratitude. Mahalo to the workers who kept things running.
