## Returning Home to Maui: A Familiar Gray For many, Maui evokes images of azure waters and vibrant sunsets. But for me, the island holds a deeper, more ingrained memory – the continuous gray clouds billowing from the Pu‘unēnē Mill. My father, intimately attuned to the island’s winds, could read them like a map. To me, however, they were simply woven into the fabric of Maui’s landscape, a constant presence. Returning home is a sensory immersion, a re-engagement with these foundational elements. It's a reminder of the authentic spirit of the island, a spirit we strive to capture in every experience offered at Hanalei Bay Country Club.
