Honoring Kauai's own Damian Baptiste for a national weather service award

We're raising a glass, and our gaze to the sky, to Damian Baptiste, Assistant Superintendent at Princeville Makai Golf Club, who just snagged the 2022 John Companius Holm Award from the National Weather Service. It's a big deal: fewer than 25 cooperative weather observers nationwide receive this honor each year, and one of them calls Kauai home. Damian's dedication to tracking our island's ever-changing skies embodies the grounded, adventurous spirit we love around here. It's that same community-first energy that fuels our recent charity golf event, where we raised over $30,000 for the Aloha ʻĀina Collective. From the course to the clouds, Kauai's heartbeat is in the details.
