Would you recommend Stockholm over Gothenburg?

Just a question of interest. Been to Sweden three times now, three times to Gothenburg (also other places in the summer). It became our little tradition to go there every year a few days before New Years Day, which we did two times in a row now. But I've never really been to Stockholm, just to hop on another train, to a different place.

I know the opinions differ, some say Stockholm is way better, others say they like Gothenburg more. I personally love Gothenburg, because I find it really pretty and diverse (if you know the spots ofc). Last time we had a small apartment on the Schären and it was a beautiflul experience. Though I ofc know Stockholm has those kind of islands to. We saw the early fireworks at Ramberget and I'd come back any time.
