What kind of nail?

I really love a little length to my nails, but my natural nails are horrendously weak and bend in painful ways or just break no matter what I do. I need a solution that will hold up during the day to day of being a mum. Would acrylics/builder gel/whatever it's officially called be a good idea? Please give me your recommendations or ideas!
