Do you remember the unplanned parts of your trips more?
The parts I remember the most were never planned.
Usually just random stops — a place I didn’t search for,
a moment that just happened.
Nothing special on paper, but it stays with you more than the “main” places.
It made me realize how much of travel now is about planning everything in advance.
Routes, stays, timelines — trying to use time properly.
On a longer trip recently, I tried something different.
Instead of deciding everything beforehand,
I started deciding based on how each place felt.
Stayed longer where it felt right.
Left early where it didn’t.
It felt less efficient… but more real.
Curious if others have experienced this.
Do you prefer planning everything,
or figuring it out as you go?
