Did I succeed in styling this Zara dress?

Hi everyone!

The overwhelming majority HATED this and recommended that I return it. I followed some suggestions: different shoes (kitten heels), jeans underneath, a belt at the waist, hair down, and jewelry. How did I do?? Is it still a return?
