Was sick a lot of last year, and treatments ruined my skin and hair

Hi everyone. I'm an older lady, and I had some medical procedures last year that were very stressful, in fact, the whole year was stressful. About half my hair fell out, and still hasn't grown back in, but the worst thing was my skin. I had to take a prolonged course of prednisone, and it has totally ruined my skin, especially on my face. I have puffy areas with brown spots in them, and my skin just seems slack. I had beautiful skin for my age before this, so it's not just aging. Nobody ages this fast!

I've just about given up. I was told to use a mixture of castor oil and coconut oil on my scalp (not my hair) twice a week and to drink diatomaceous earth every day to get my hair to grow back. Does that work? I'm already using Nizoral shampoo, because I read it helped regrow hair lost from stress, but it isn't working. I don't want to use any chemical treatments.

My skin is just so ugly now, especially on my face, but the rest of my body is pretty bad too. My arms are so dry and no amount of lotion will make them puff up, and I've tried a lot of great lotions. The skin on my face just looks deformed. Not even makeup can make it look smooth, because of all the puffy areas.

I tried using the clay masks, and it did help tighten up my skin, but it didn't get rid of the puffy areas. I use CeraVe face and body lotion on my face every day and night. Nothing helps.

Do you have any recommendations? I'm almost ashamed to go out in public with this horrible skin and thin hair.
