Kaka'ako Beach Park Amphitheater
Our take
Nestled on the mauka side of Kaka'ako Waterfront Park, the Kaka'ako Beach Park Amphitheater offers a picturesque setting that has remained quiet in recent years. Although this charming venue once hosted concerts around 2012, it has since seen a lull in events, leaving many to wonder about its past vibrancy. Locals may recall the lively atmosphere that filled the amphitheater, where music and community converged against a backdrop of stunning coastal views. Today, it stands as a hidden gem, inviting curiosity about its history and potential for future gatherings. With its proximity to the University of Hawaii Cancer Center, the amphitheater holds promise for rejuvenation, making it a topic of interest among those who appreciate local culture and community events.
There's a really nice amphitheater on the mauka side of Kaka'ako waterfront park but I've never seen an event held there. It seems like some concerts were held back in 2012 or so. Any long-time locals know what this used to be like? Why did they stop hosting events there?
It's right behind the University of Hawaii cancer center https://www.google.com/maps/@21.2945316,-157.8644395,300m
