Elevator etiquette

Our take

Elevator etiquette can be tricky, as illustrated by my recent experience at Pearl Ridge Rail Station. While waiting for the elevator, I saw a bicyclist and assumed we were all heading down. Without checking the button he pressed, I followed him inside, only to discover that the elevator was going up instead. A lady was already inside, and when she exited, I pressed the button to go down, oblivious to the fact that the bicyclist wanted to get off.

I'm the idiot in this situation. Got on the concorse of the pearl ridge rail station. There was a bicyclist there also waiting for the elevator. I assumed we all were going down. I didn't check which button the bicyclist had pressed. Elevator comes another lady is already inside. I go on following the bicyclist. Elevator goes up to platform level. Lady gets off.

I press the button to go down. Being the oblivious idiot, I didn't notice that the bicyclist was wanting to go off. Doors start closing, meanwhile bicyclist is angry as hell. I press button to open. He got off and called me a dipshit.

Sorry 🤷‍♂️
