County secures $7.5M in federal funds for key projects

The county has successfully secured $7.5 million in federal funding to support essential community projects. This includes $3.15 million designated for the Lima Ola Affordable Housing Subdivision in ‘Ele‘ele, which will provide approximately 600 permanently affordable homes upon completion. Additionally, $2 million will fund the Kilauea Town Expansion Project, while $2.3 million will enhance the Waimea to Kekaha Shared Use Path, creating a pedestrian and bicycle-friendly route along Kaumuali‘i Highway.
