Best Chinese Restaurant.. with Actual "Wok Hei"
Our take
If you're on the hunt for a Chinese restaurant that truly captures the essence of "wok hei," you know how elusive that perfect smoky flavor can be. Many seasoned chefs have retired, leaving a gap in culinary expertise that makes finding this authentic taste challenging. While Moon Garden once came close, recent changes in their kitchen have left patrons seeking alternatives. If you have recommendations for restaurants that master the art of wok cooking and deliver that signature flavor, your insights would be greatly appreciated.
As the title suggests, looking for a Chinese Restaurant that serves food with actual "wok hei" flavor. Feel like a lot of the old time chefs have retired and the new chefs just don't know how to get that smoky wok flavor onto the foods. It is a little hard to explain but it just adds a layer of flavoring if the cook knows how to use the wok properly.
The closest I have gotten here, would be Moon Garden, but I heard the head chef had left. Would be very appreciative to be pointed in the right direction.
